He gives after-dinner talks, keynote addresses, link presentations and workshops. His talks offer a unique blend of puzzling challenges and hard-hitting business messages. They are motivational, stimulating and fun but with strong take-away themes on leadership, creativity and innovation. He uses humour, interaction and real-life examples to inspire audiences to approach issues from new directions. His clients include BT, IBM, ICI, Philip Morris, Equant, Scottish Equitable and Syntegra. He is particularly popular with top-level audiences and in the fields of sales, marketing and high technology.
Paul gained a first in Engineering at Cambridge. His stellar career started in IBM where he came top of Sales School. He was part of the team that launched the IBM PC in the UK. He went on to be Managing Director of the database leaders, Ashton-Tate. He became VP International for MathSoft Inc. and CEO of Monactive Ltd.
In his latest book, The Leader's guide to Lateral Thinking Skills, published by Kogan Page, he explains how you can use the principles of lateral leadership to inspire your people to achieve breakthrough solutions and radical innovations. Previous to this, Paul had six books published, including the well received, Ten Great Ways to Crush Creativity. He has a regular column on innovation in Eurobusiness magazine.
