Ruthlessly deconstructing the Cockney myth with razor-sharp observational wit, Micky Flanagan is a British if.comedy nominated stand-up comedian. He would be well suited to performing stand up material, hosting and compering events. A professional stand-up since 1997, Micky draws on his East End background, telling a comic tale of a working class upbringing, a place and time where alphabetti spaghetti was a luxury, and a bottle of Black Tower the height of sophistication. Micky has come along way since then and thanks to a university education he is now a rare delight. In his own words, "an intellectual cockney".

A professional stand-up since 1997, Micky draws on his East End background as he ruthlessly deconstructs the Cockney myth with razor-sharp observational wit. He tells a comic tale of a working class upbringing, a place and time where alphabetti spaghetti is a luxury, and a bottle of Black Tower the height of sophistication. After a successful run at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival debuting his hit show, What Chance Change? Micky was invited to appear at the 2008 Montreal Festival. What Chance Change? is the story of Micky's life, and the journey he's taken from the mean streets of the East End to the leafy lanes of East Dulwich. It's 1980: Micky feels trapped and angry, working as a porter in Billingsgate fish market, living in the East End. It's now 2007: Micky is slightly upset at the cost of a latte, working as a stand-up comic and living in pretentious East Dulwich. Over twenty-five years, he's gone from Sunblest to pannini, tabloids to broadsheets, the street party to the dinner party. Travel, countless jobs, a belated higher education, and women have all played their part.
Micky is not just a Festival comedian, but a familiar face on television. He has appeared on shows such as: Comedy Shuffle; Edinburgh and Beyond; The Comedy Store; Laughter For Life; Hoot and Rory Bremner. He is often recognised for appearing in adverts for Sainsbury's. On radio he has been a guest on 4 Stands Up (BBC Radio 4) and Alan Carr and Friends (BBC Radio 2).
Micky is currently gigging on the UK comedy circuit and hosting corporate events for clients such as: Revels; Panasonic; McDonalds; the Post Office; What Mobile and Metro Rail.
