      Marian Salzman is a businesswoman specialising in Marketing.

      Colleagues and the press often refer to Marian as a futurist, although she prefers the label 'marketer with vision'. Her passion for market research and consumer insight has earned her a position as a leading trendspotters.

      As Chief Strategy Officer for Euro RSCG Worldwide, Marian works with account planners and business development teams to drive creative insights and business strategies into client companies. She also oversees Euro RSCG's Global Planning Council and S.T.A.R. (Strategic Trendspotting and Research), which provides efficient and creative means by which to monitor and report global trends.

      In the early 1990s, as President of entrepreneurial consultancy BKG Youth, she pioneered youth and Gen X research for a number of well-known companies and completed the largest-ever study of Generation X in the U.S.

      Marian subsequently joined Chiat/Day as Corporate Director (Emerging Media and Consumer Insights). In 1995, she was recognised by Crain's New York Business as one of the '40 Under 40' expected to change the business landscape and was among New York magazine's 'Cyber 60', a group of individuals who are genuine leaders in the field of new media.

      In her next post as worldwide director, TBWA International's Department of the Future (TBWA and Chiat/Day merged in 1995), she was based in Amsterdam. She quickly earned a reputation in Europe as an Internet guru. In fact, the journal she kept while living in Holland was published as a book 'Face2face in Cyberspace'.

      In late 1997, Salzman brought her unique brand of future-focused marketing to Young & Rubicam Inc., where she founded Brand Futures Group. In June 2000, Y&R Inc. announced that Brand Futures Group was restructured as a new line of business under the name 'The Intelligence Factory' (IF) with Marian Salzman as President. IF was charged with providing global intelligence and trend insights to Y&R Inc. offices around the globe, as well as to key Y&R clients. The group also produced co-branded products with Reuters Business Insights and Jay Chiat's Screaming Media.
