Newsreader, TV presenter and authority on endless topics, Krishnan Guru Murthy is sparkly and articulate as akeynote or after-dinner speaker, and awards host. Krishnan’s prolific TV career has endowed him with a confidence and knowledge that combine to create the ideal speaker.
Liverpool born Oxford graduate, Krishnan Guru-Murthy is the EMMA award-winning anchor of Channel 4 News at Noon, which he combines with regular presenting of the flagship Channel 4 News at 7pm. He has also popped up on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and made a cameo appearance in Shaun of the Dead. Krishnan also fronted "The Event - How Racist are You?" in which the controversial former American schoolteacher Jane Elliott performed her "brown eyes, blue eyes" experiment on a group of British adults.
Originally at the BBC, Krishnan worked on a variety of programmes from Newsnight to Newsround. He reported for National Lottery Live, presented the Asian Arts show East and fronted Posh Frocks & New Trousers.
For Channel 4, Krishnan has presented The Autopsy, the first public post-mortem to be broadcast live. He has also hosted various debates, including one about the impact of reality TV and another on human genetics.
