Jonathan Roy Holmes is the Chairman/CEO of SFX Sports Group.
After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in Political Studies, Jon joined the Leicester Mercury in 1971 as a Trainee Reporter.
Following his stint at the Mercury, Jon moved on to work at pension solutions firm, Pointon York. Since then he has worked for Benson McGarvey and was the Founder and Managing Director of Park Associate Sports Management from 1981 to 1998.
In 1998 Park Associates was sold to The Marquee Group (UK) Ltd and Jon Holmes was appointed Managing Director. The Marquee Group was subsequently acquired by SFX Sports Group (Europe) Ltd in 1999. In August 2000 SFX was acquired by Clear Channel Communications Inc.
Jon is an occasional contributor to Newspapers, TV and Radio on Sports Management related topics. He is also an accomplished speaker on the topics of Sports Sponsorship/Marketing/Branding especially in relation to David Beckham.
He co-devised with Gary Lineker a screenplay for ITV's "All in the Game" drama series broadcast in 1993, and "Gary's Golden Boots" for BBC1 in 1998.
He was also a programme consultant to "They Think It's All Over" (BBC TV/TalkBack 1995 � 2000) and "Trevor's World of Sport" (BBC TV/Hat Trick 2003).
