James Cracknell (OBE), is a British rowing champion and double Olympic Gold medallist and adventurer.

Life as one of Britain's most successful athletes is not all boats and water. James has made the successful transition from the river to the studio. As ITV Sport's all-action presenter, he has embraced the new challenges that broadcasting has set. Already James has covered the Superbowl in the US, and the Rugby 7s in Hong Kong.

Winning Gold in Athens in one of the most heart stopping races in Olympic history confirmed James as one of the most inspiring and successful athletes of the modern era. A double Olympic champion and world record holder; James is one of Britain's true sporting heroes.

James won his first Olympic Gold and the hearts of the nation in the legendary coxless four in Sydney 2000. After four years of intensive training and determination, James repeated this incredible performance in Athens, Winning his second Olympic Gold Medal in a nail biting final with Mathew Pinsent, Steve Williams and Ed Coode.

James has also had phenomenal success in the coxless pairs, forming a partnership with Mathew Pinsent after the Sydney Olympics. In front of a huge crowd in Lucerne in 2001, they snatched both Golds, achieving the one accomplishment that had eluded Steve Redgrave.

James is an ex-teacher and a Masters graduate. When he isn't riding his mountain bike or surfing, he is busy making regular TV and Radio appearances. His wide appeal means he is as likely to be found on children's BBC as he is on a debate for radio 5. He has presented gongs at the BAFTA's as well as the Disney channel kids awards. Also a firm favourite with the lifestyle press, James is admired by the public for his style and success and has been the recipient of many lifestyle awards.

James continues to keep fit in the manner of an Olympian, taking on a triathlon, paddling the channel on a surf board and rowing the Atlantic naked in under 40 days with TV presenter Ben Fogle.

In January 2009, James took part in the Amundsen Omega 3 South Pole Race with his TV Presenter friend Ben Fogle and Dr Ed Coats as members of Team QinetiQ, finishing in second, 20 hours behind the long distance ski experts in the winning Norwegian team. The race and the reasons behind was broadcast on BBC Television during summer 2009 in the series On Thin Ice. The trio raised funds for the Children's medical research charity Sparks, chosen as the charity partner in memory of Cracknell's niece, Eva, who died at six days old after suffering oxygen deprivation at birth.

In 2010, James became the highest-placed Briton ever to complete Marathon des Sables after finishing 12th.

James outstanding sporting achievements, intelligence and good sense of humour have also made him a popular choice of corporate speaker. With the ability to tailor his experiences to captivate and motivate a variety of audiences, James has inspired and entertained many blue chip clients including BT, GlaxoSmithKline, Hewlett-Packard and McDonalds.

"James was absolutely fab on Saturday. The client was delighted and the audience went wild."
