Caricaturist at Exhibitions and Corporate Events
Corporate events
David’s work has been used in a promotional capacity at a wide variety of Corporate Events.
He has been involved in Product Launches and Promotions for Virgin Vodka; Virgin Atlantic Inaugural flights; Startrite Shoes and Landrover.
His approachable style means that he is equally at home at Country Houses, Shopping Centres, Golf Courses, Showrooms, Riverboats and Aeroplanes.
The advantage of using David at your promotion is that your guests and clients are put at ease and entertained so that your message is conveyed in a relaxed and non-pushy atmosphere. Your customers get to take away an individual portrait which will often be framed at home - and which may include your logo.
Exhibitions:
David has unrivalled experience of caricaturing on Exhibition stands at Trade Shows and Industry events. His clients know that their visitors will take away something totally unique that they will want to rave about to their friends and colleagues.
Companies who have realised the value of having David on their stand include: Fisher Scientific; The Balcombe Group; Boehringer Ingelheim; Lilly; C.I.I.; the Royal Navy; Morris Office Furniture; the Royal Mail; Bain Hogg and Lombard Finance. Many companies feature David on their stands annually.
Clients find that David’s presence at their event encourages visitors to approach their exhibition stand and then to linger. If you want to have a longer chat with your visitors, he can spend 5 or 6 minutes on elaborate colour pictures instead of lightning 2-3 minute black and whites.
Brainstorming
David’s clients value his unique ability to convey complex business ideas in a striking visual medium. He is increasingly in demand for corporate brainstorming workshops.
Recently he has been involved in several in-person events including the following projects:
British Aerospace: David appeared live on-stage before 300 managers, taking suggestions from the floor about necessary management qualities. He created an instant cartoon figure to illustrate the suggestions, which was then copied and distributed to all delegates.
HSBC & General Motors: At workshops dealing with issues of cross-cultural dilemmas within multinational organisations, David listened to groups while they discussed methods of reconciling these dilemmas. His role was to put these ideas into visual form, using humorous illustrations to convey the groups' conclusions in presentations to their colleagues.
GM Foods, Disability & Parliamentary Website Research Groups: David sat in on focus groups as they discussed their concerns and preconceptions about these issues. He then drew cartoons to illustrate points of view expressed, and in some cases to counterpoint or challenge them. In the case of the Parliamentary Website, David illustrated visions of both a worst-case and best-case scenario. In all these groups, the respondents had the opportunity to see and comment on David's ideas and artwork as the session proceeded.
Department of Health and The National Archives: For these clients, David’s was asked to draw cartoons that encapsulated delegates’ views of their Institutions’ identities. These took the form of “if your Organisation was an animal, what sort of animal would it be?” The focus that this exercise provided brought about a very lively debate and the pictures were subsequently distributed throughout the organisations.
“I was particularly happy with your work on the day and feel that it made a very significant difference to the attendance level. As regards next year, I would like you to come for two days!”
