Prior to joining Al Jazeera, Darren spent 8 years at the BBC in London, and was one of the Corporation’s most recognised news anchors. He has presented all of the main BBC news bulletins, as well as anchoring BBC News 24 and BBC World. He is best known for presenting the BBC’s One O’clock news, as well as the flagship 10 O’clock News.
Darren also worked with the BBC World Service Trust, running overseas media training projects. He currently facilitates and mediates many high-profile corporate events in the Middle East and around the world. Darren grew up in Jamaica, was educated in the West Indies, and is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
