Darren Jordon is a senior news presenter for the 24-hour Al Jazeera English news and current affairs channel based in Doha, Qatar. He regularly presents the mainNewshour programmes and also anchors Inside Story, Al Jazeera’s in-depth analytical interview programme. His interviews are wide-ranging and engaging, and he has interviewed the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Pakistani President, Pervez Musharraf, and the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Prior to joining Al Jazeera, Darren spent 8 years at the BBC in London, and was one of the Corporation’s most recognised news anchors. He has presented all of the main BBC news bulletins, as well as anchoring BBC News 24 and BBC World. He is best known for presenting the BBC’s One O’clock news, as well as the flagship 10 O’clock News.

Darren also worked with the BBC World Service Trust, running overseas media training projects. He currently facilitates and mediates many high-profile corporate events in the Middle East and around the world. Darren grew up in Jamaica, was educated in the West Indies, and is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
