He presents his work for private, corporate, and high profile clients across the board (we'll avoid name dropping). His performance style as a London close-up magician is engaging and sophisticated. He has appeared on such prestigious stages as The Barbican Hall, The Hackney Empire and most recently he opened the premiere of the Edinburgh International Film Festival live on stage at the Festival Theatre.
Originally from the U.S., Christopher performs as a London wedding magician and for civil partnerships, as a corporate magician, for private events, gala balls and his stage act at Moulin Rouge parties.
When Christopher was seventeen years old his family moved to London, England and he went along to pursue a double-major degree in Theatre Arts and Studio Arts. In London Christopher continued to develop his magic acts, performing in public and private events. After University he began studying opera and for five years he trained (in London and Bologna, Italy).
Having decided to pursue magic instead, Christopher is now a full-time London magician who travels through the UK and abroad to present his work. Music is still an important part of his magic acts however; particularly in his cabaret and stage magic shows. A true performer whose medium is magic, Christopher is excited by how a ‘theatre bubble’ seems to form around those involved in the presentation, even with close up magic; how magic is the vehicle to move them to another place completely.
In 2002 he gained membership to the prestigious Magic Circle. In 2006 he co-created the stage magician variety act Amazing Norvil & Josehpine with dancer and acrobat Desiree Kongerod. Christopher also holds a diploma as a certified life coach and has created Project Illusions which uses magic to lead unique personal development workshops and speeches. Christopher speaks Italian and German and when he’s not working (and also when he is!) you'll probably find him in Spain, Italy or Florida!
After Dinner Shows
Christopher Howell’s audiences have also given rave reviews for his performances as a cabaret magician both in private homes and in larger venues. His cabaret magic shows (after-dinner magic shows) are presented for groups watching together, either in a reception room, banqueting hall or a theatre space with a small stage. For larger audiences, cameras and screens can be used to give close-up views of the live action.
In this show, Christopher transports your audience to a theatre of the impossible. The act is tied together with an entertaining and enchanting narrative and is delivered with Christopher's famous performance style. Imagine: a guest's mind being read… a signed bank note being destroyed and reappearing in a sealed box across the room… a chosen playing card visibly melting through a balloon!
He has recently performed as cabaret magician for events in sitting rooms and theatres throughout the UK and abroad, in such notable venues as the Garrick Club (London), Dundas Castle (Edinburgh) and the Castle of San Pietro in Cerro (Italy).
Choose from either a 20 or 30-minute performance. Often he performs as cabaret magician as a climax to an evening that began with his performances as a close-up magician while guests arrived. He presents his cabaret shows as a wedding magician, corporate events magician and for private parties throughout London, the UK and abroad.
