Claire Ashmore is a highly experienced acrobatic and aerial performer with a range of top quality acts from Con Brio, a fast paced acrobatic and contortion piece to Helix, a beautiful solo aerial silks act. She has trained as a top level competitive gymnast where her natural flexibility and elegance was often remarked upon.
From the age of 5 to 15 years, Claire trained as a top level artistic gymnast where her strongest events were the beam and floor. She then spent a year in sports acrobatics as a flier in women’s pairs and a solo tumbler. She reached regional level at both disciplines.
Upon ending her career, Claire turned to music. She plays the flute to a high level and the harp and gained a BA (hons) Music degree.
While at University Claire became a gymnastics coach, working with children and adults of all ages and abilities and it was this that led Claire to begin training gymnastics again and ultimately to audition for the main show in the Millennium Dome. Claire was successful, spent 6 months learning circus skills at The Circus Space and then performer as an acrobat and aerialist in the Dome throughout 2000. Claire has been performing acrobatics and aerial ever since.
