Alfie Boe began his career lending his vocals for various projects and for roles on the Broadway stage. His recording career really took off in the UK when Classical FM approached and signed him as their first ever artist on their Classical FM Presents record label and the subsequent album reached number three in the classical charts.
Alfie Boe began his career lending his vocals for various projects and for roles on the Broadway stage. His recording career really took off in the UK when Classical FM approached and signed him as their first ever artist on their Classical FM Presents record label and the subsequent album reached number three in the classical charts.
He has gone on to record three more albums under different labels and star in many roles on stage. Boe typically sings arias and classical pieces and doesn't venture into pop or particularly attempt to do anything new. He possesses a voice both powerful and versatile, but most importantly, can inject genuine emotion into his performances, making him an incredible actor as he is a singer.
Boe was recently found playing the famous role of Valjean in the 25th Anniversary production of Les Miserables and released a charity single of 'Bring Him Home' with three other well known Valjean's. During his time with Les Mis, he met British comedian Matt Lucas and the pair made a viral video on youtube (see below) together. His latest album, Bring Him Home, enjoyed huge success in the UK, hitting the top ten in the main album chart.
