The following year he repeated the Swearing show, and took up his first solo character show, Marcel Lucont: Sexual Metro. Alexis' comedy lecture-style shows are fantastically versatile and can be tweaked to suit the tone of your event.
After University, Alexis became a founding member of the sketch group Ubersausage. In 1999 they took their first show to Edinburgh and to their delight, not to mention that of the Students’ Union, which had funded such a potentially disastrous project, met with great critical and commercial success.
Ubersausage continued in various guises for three years until the final show in Edinburgh 2001, when the group went their separate ways. Having already performed stand-up at their cabaret night UberNacht, as well as several open mic spots around the country, Alexis decided to go solo as a comedy perfomer, while still pursuing a career in acting.
Since then he has played a wide variety of theatre roles, both Fringe and West End, appearing on various shows for the BBC and making the obligatory minor appearance on The Bill (as a drug dealer). He also played a minor role in Chris Morris’ Nathan Barley, as well as various characters on The Crunch, a kids' TV show on Nickelodeon, which he also did voiceovers for.
Since February 2005 Alexis has been running and hosting Falling Down With Laughter in London Bridge with personal showbiz friend Sy Thomas. The club was voted Best Small London Comedy Club in the 2008 Chortle Awards. The club has played host to various top-name comics, such as Jack Dee, Sean Lock, Stewart Lee, Richard Herring, Russell Brand, Adam Hills and many more.
In January 2006 Alexis took part in a documentary which involved driving 4,000 miles from Plymouth to the Gambia with aformentioned comedian Sy Thomas, in a very old car.
Recently he has taught stand-up on the City Lit course in London, and taken up photography.
