A blend of sharp one-liners, sketches, quick-fire crowd engagement, puns and pseudo-surreal babbling sums up comedian Alex Horne quite nicely. A hugely talented and diverse comedian, Alex has already established a remarkable reputation among critics, comics and audiences as a gifted gag-smith, prolific writer and one of the most creative solo performers at work today.
If that wasnt enough, Alex also fronts his very own comedy jazz band The Horne Section combining jokes and jazz - a perfect fit for awards shows.
Award winning comedian, star and co-creator of BBC4’s comedy quiz show "We Need Answers", Alex Horne has established a reputation among critics, comics and audiences alike as a thoughtful and original stand-up, writer and solo performer.
Also in 2011, The Horne Section, Alex's own comedy jazz band, will be performing throughout October and November at Londons Criterion Theatre following a successful run at the Soho Theatre, where the group received rave reviews - "Fresh, original, blissfully fun; a whole lot of fun. Highly recommended" * * * * * Time Out.
Alex won a Chortle Award in 2004 for his show "Every Body Talks". He has also filmed his own documentary for BBC4, "The Games that Time Forgot: Cricket on Horseback and Other Forgotten Sports"; other credits include "The Percy Edwards Showdown" (BBC Radio 4), "The Verb" (BBC Radio 3) "Loose Ends" (BBC Radio 4), and an appearance on "Celebrity Mastermind" (BBC2), a 45-date national tour with Robert Llewellyn and has written and performed with Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow Productions (BBC3).
“Extremely well-conceived and executed, this makes for a fine hour laughing about laughter”
